This March, Life Without Barriers is hosting and supporting a number of in-person events. You can connect with our teams and learn more about our services at the events below.
New South Wales
Moruya Mardi Gras Parade and River lights
This community event celebrates life in the Eurobodalla, and Yesterday’s Heroes, the people who worked tirelessly over many years to raise funds for community needs.
Join Life Without Barriers staff as they take part in a mega street parade full of creative and wonderful characters, vintage cars and a few surprises on Moruya’s main street.
Following the parade, wind your way down to the Riverside Park and enjoy a relaxed day and evening of fabulous live music, food stalls, parachute display and activities.
This free event culminates with evening river floats and a fabulous fireworks display.

Becoming a Carer for Kids Information Session with My Forever Family
Join Life Without Barriers at the My Forever Family Carer Information Session to learn more about foster care!
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the process of becoming an authorised carer and listen to firsthand experiences from current carers.
Our staff will be ready to answer your questions and provide valuable information about foster care in your local area.

Come along to Mercure Townsville to join the Together Townsville Network!
The meeting is open to everyone, from community organisations to the biggest businesses and individuals keen to make a change.
Grab a coffee, bring your business card and get ready to meet some amazing people!
Our friendly Child, Youth and Family staff will be available at the event to chat about all things foster care and answer any questions you have.

Zonta International Women’s Day Brunch
Join Life Without Barriers at the Zonta Internation Women’s Day brunch on Sunday, 13 March.
Celebrating International Women’s Day and raising funds for Zonta’s local service projects, the event will be a fun morning out with guest speakers, a delicious breakfast, drinks, raffles and a gift bag for each attendee.
Life Without Barriers’ North Coast team have donated a 'self-care' basket for the raffle and will be sharing a presentation on how you can become a foster carer.
Tickets are $65 per person.

Redcliffe Community Fun Day
Are you looking for a fun day out for the whole family? Come along to the Redcliffe Neighbourhood centre Community Fun day.
This free event features a range of exciting activities for all ages, including jumping castles, live music, food and drinks, a petting zoo and much more.
Come along and say hi to Life Without Barriers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Initiatives team, who will have a stall at this event.

Wesbro Services – Colour of the Lockyer
Discover all the great elements of life in and around the Lockyer Valley!
This event will showcase the amazing talents in and around the Lockyer Valley, including a market, information stalls, workshops and live entertainment.
We will have a stall at the event, and our friendly staff will be available to discuss and answer any questions you have about foster care.

Knox Festival is a free community event welcoming locals to come together and celebrate community life.
A great day out for the whole family with carnival rides, workshops, cooking demonstrations, activities for the kids, entertainment and a range of food stalls. There is something for everyone!
Life Without Barriers staff and foster care ambassadors will have a stall at the event, ready to answer any questions about foster care.

Red Hill Show
Come and celebrate the 100th Birthday of the Red Hill Agricultural & Horticultural Show with us!
Every year thousands of people attend the Red Hill Show to enjoy a great family day and be part of this wonderful community celebration on the Mornington Peninsula.
This fabulous community event is a great day out for friends and family with entertainment, exhibitions, demonstrations, animals and carnival rides.
We will have a stall at the show, and our friendly staff will be available to answer any questions you have about foster care.

Casey Kids Carnival
The Casey Kids Carnival is one of the City of Casey’s most popular annual events.
The day offers free activities for families, including live performers and entertainers. There are rides, interactive games, face painters, art and crafts and live animals.

Wangaratta Marathon and Fun Run has a race for all ages! Come down and join a race or cheer on the participants from the sidelines.
To support the community, Life Without Barriers is volunteering at the fun run. Visit our stall if you need some refreshing water, and a have a chat with our friendly staff about how you can become a foster carer.

Nightingale (Anstey) SDA Apartments Virtual Open Day
Join Life Without Barriers and Housing Choices Australia for an online information session and virtual tour of our new apartments, Nightingale (Anstey), located in the inner-city suburb of Brunswick, Victoria.
These beautifully presented, eco-friendly apartments have been designed to meet either High Physical Support or Fully Accessible, Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) design requirements under the NDIS. The apartments include special features that can help you live as independently as possible and have better access to supports in your home!
The information session will be led by people with direct experience who will be able to answer all your housing and NDIS SDA-related questions.

Closing the Gap Day
Join Life Without Barriers Closing the Gap Day 2023, the biggest event in the state dedicated to improving the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This family-friendly event invites people of all ages and mobs to connect with organisations that can support their needs in health care, aged care, disability, employment, homelessness, youth services and more.
In celebration of the world’s oldest living cultures, attendees will enjoy Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s music, dance and art while exploring the breadth of support services available in South Australia.

Mirrabooka Harmony Festival
In the spirit of Harmony, schools, community organisations, local council, government agencies, and local businesses will come together at The Square Mirrabooka to bring a vibrant day of family-friendly fun, delicious food, cultural entertainment, and community services to the local community, and so much more.
