We are partnering with participants, families and former DHHS staff to ensure high quality support is provided as disability services have transferred from the Victorian Government to Life Without Barriers.
What do these changes mean for you?
About the transfer
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is rolling out across Victoria, which aims to give people with disability choice and control about the services they need and who provides them.
As part of these changes, the Victorian Government has transferred some services from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to Life Without Barriers, in selected areas of Greater Melbourne.
This means that Life Without Barriers is the new service provider of Supported Independent Living (group accommodation) and Short Term Accommodation and Assistance (respite support) in various locations.
Life Without Barriers and DHHS have worked together to ensure a smooth transfer experience, and high quality support is delivered going forward.
Life Without Barriers is a registered NDIS provider and one of Australia’s largest national providers of disability services.
We work with people with disability, their families and carers, to ensure the best support is available and based on each person’s unique circumstances. This includes working in partnership with supporters, advocates, government, the private sector and communities to improve the lives of people we support. We have supported more than 2,000 people to transfer to the NDIS and have a lot of experience working with people with high and complex needs.Find out more at our national website
