Bundoora boasts excellent medical facilities, including the Northern Hospital and several clinics. For shopping and leisure, residents can visit Bundoora Square and University Hill, which offer a variety of retail stores, cafes, and restaurants.

Local attractions include Bundoora Park, featuring a farm and playgrounds, and the nearby La Trobe University, known for its beautiful campus and cultural events. The area is also home to several sports facilities, including golf courses and recreational centres, making it an ideal location for an active lifestyle.


This single-storey house has been designed to improve ‘Liveability’ by incorporating a reasonable level of physical access and enhanced provision for people with sensory, intellectual, or cognitive impairment.

Current support model

The house is staffed seven days a week with an Active Night overnight model of care. All staff are trained in epilepsy management, positive behaviour support and dual disability.

All staff have current First Aid and medication training.

Regular household safety checks are conducted.

Factors to consider when applying

Life Without Barriers will conduct a screening and suitability assessment to ensure housemates are compatible.

  • You are aged 18 years or over.

  • You are eligible for, and able to secure, an appropriate level of NDIS Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funding.

  • You have the financial means to pay rent and utilities and are prepared to sign (or for a representative to sign) a service and accommodation agreement.

  • SDA Design Category 'Improved Liveability'.

The property is owned by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing with staff support provided by Life Without Barriers.
