We're looking for disability support workers to join our standby workforce

Life Without Barriers supports people all over Australia including people with disabilities, older Australians and children and young people in out-of-home care. As we are an essential service, we are currently recruiting a standby workforce to join us for several months while we continue to support vulnerable Australians throughout this difficult time.

If you have experience working as a disability support worker - we are looking for you. We don’t just want to support our clients through this crisis, we want to support the community too, so if you have experience as a Disability Support Worker and would like to join us for the next few months, your application will be prioritised.

  • Aged Care Support Worker

What your work might involve:

  • Personal care
  • Cooking, cleaning and shopping
  • Social support
  • Helping people access their local community (where appropriate, given current physical distancing measures)

We are looking for people with:

A commitment to our values

We are non-negotiable on the standard of support we provide people being led by our values

A valid First Aid Certificate

Due to COVID-19, First Aid courses are no longer running so your certificate must be up-to-date

A driver's licence

During this time, we are asking staff not to travel to work using public transport, to minimise their risk of exposure to COVID-19

Access to a car with third party insurance

From time to time, you may need to use your own vehicle to take people to appointments or get groceries

Flexible availability

For those working in Disability Services, you must be available to work a varied pattern of shifts across a 24/7 roster
