During November, Life Without Barriers is hosting and supporting a number of in-person and online events. You can connect with our teams and learn more about our services at the events below.

Australia Wide

The Stride Series - Making Good Trouble: Let's Talk About Sex - Information Webinar

Join us as we explore sexual safety and abuse prevention for young people.

In this webinar, we explore sexual safety and abuse prevention for young people with Amanda Paton, Deputy Director Australian Centre for Child Protection, Mark Robertson, CEO One Vision Productions, alongside a Youth Representative from NAPCAN, and Melinda Clarke, Manager Child Safe Organisation Life Without Barriers.

Care Expo Sydney

Care Expo Sydney brings together a diverse range of community services, businesses and organisations from the support, health, and care industries.

We will have a stall at the event, sharing information about foster care, our disability services, and employment opportunities at Life Without Barriers. Our friendly staff will be available to answer your questions and can provide you with important advice specific to your needs and help guide you on your journey.

School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) - Information Webinar

This free information session is for New South Wales students with disability in years 10 - 12 to learn more about employment support opportunities.

Meet our Employment Pathway Coaches, who will talk you through a whole range of employment pathway options. This is an interactive session giving you lots of time to ask questions and find out what’s best for you.

Bowls Queensland State Finals

Life Without Barriers is proud to sponsor Bowls Queensland's 2023 State Finals. We invite you to join this exciting event, whether in person to cheer on the finalists or via the live stream to catch all the action from home.

Life Without Barriers staff will be at the event, cheering on the players and answering any questions you have about our career opportunities and aged care services.

Foster Care Information Webinar

If you're interested in sharing your home, heart and time with a child or young person in need, please join our free information session to learn what's involved in becoming a foster carer and whether it's the right fit for you.

During the session, we will cover the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a foster carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers. Our experienced team and a local foster carer will talk you through the process and answer any questions you have - no matter how big or small!

Transition to Adulthood: Party in the Park

Transition to Adulthood (T2A) Month is held in November each year to highlight the needs of young people in Queensland as they make the journey from out-of-home care to adulthood.

Ipswich community organisations and government departments are holding an event with information stalls for young people transitioning from out-of-home care to independent living.

Next Step Plus and Life Without Barriers Child, Youth and Family staff will be attending alongside partner agencies from the region, sharing information and answering your questions about the support available for young people in care.

Cuppa in the Communi-tea

This free, accessible, and inclusive event connects residents with different service providers in the local community and council departments and offers technology support, free Wi-Fi, and the chance to borrow some books from the Mobile Library Van.

Drop in, have a cuppa, and chat with the Life Without Barriers team. Our friendly staff and foster carers will be happy to share all the information and insights into what it's like to be a foster carer and to answer any questions you might have.

South Australia

Adelaide Picnic in the Park

Come along to Picnic in the Park!

This fabulous community event, presented by Feast Festival, is a great day out for friends and family. Explore artisan market stalls, community information villages, the sports hub and more while enjoying a variety of cuisines from local food vendors.

We will have a stall at the market, and our friendly staff will be available to discuss our disability and mental health services and answer any questions you have about foster care.

Southern Community Showcase

Join Life Without Barriers at the Southern Community Showcase!

This family-friendly event is a great opportunity for the community to collect information on a diverse range of services available within the southern suburbs of Adelaide. This free event will have something for everyone, including fun activities and programs, craft stalls, information stalls, food trucks, and a barbecue.

OUT in the OPEN Festival - Carnival Day

OUT in the OPEN is Greater Shepparton’s Festival celebrating LGBTIQA+ pride and community diversity. Bring your friends and family along to Carnival Day at Queens Gardens to wander through the stalls and markets and enjoy live music, entertainment, food and the immersive Queer Museum! Come visit the Life Without Barriers stall for a chat about all things foster care. The Australasian Society for Intellectual Disability Conference
