Foster Care Information Webinar
Join Scott Newman, Carer Engagement Officer and Jacintha Batchelor, Carer Ambassador, to learn more about Foster Care in an online information session!
During the session, we will cover the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a Foster Carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session.

Tharawal NAIDOC Family Fun Day
The Tharawal NAIDOC Family Fun Day has been rescheduled to Thursday 6 October.
Come along to this free community event to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories with performances, food, activities, stalls and more!

Penrith City Council NAIDOC Week event
Following a reschedule in July due to wet weather, Penrith City Council will host a fun and inclusive NAIDOC Week event on Friday 7 October to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, culture, and contemporary life.
Come down to say hi to our friendly staff and enjoy performances, food, activities, stalls and more!

Shoalhaven NAIDOC Family Fun Day
Due to the wet weather in July, Shoalhaven City Council has rescheduled their NAIDOC Family Fun Day to Friday 7 October.
This free event is a great day out for the whole family and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, culture, and communities.
Life Without Barriers will have a stall at the Shoalhaven NAIDOC Family Fun Day. Come down and join us as we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and advocate for institutional, structural, collaborative and cooperative change.

Becoming a Carer for Kids Information Session with My Forever Family
Join Life Without Barriers at the My Forever Family Carer Information Session to learn more about foster care!
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the process of becoming an authorised carer and listen to firsthand experiences from current carers.
Our staff will be ready to answer your questions and provide valuable information about foster care in your local area.

Mindshare Group Exhibition Launch
Celebrate the launch of the Mindshare Group Exhibition!
Mindshare is an online space that invites the general public to share personal experiences or thoughts connected to mental health, either in everyday observations or through art and storytelling.
The yearly Mindshare Group Exhibition is held during Mental Health Month from Tuesday 4 October to Wednesday 26 October.
The Exhibition features creatives with lived experience of mental health challenges, alongside works made by participants in creative outreach and rehabilitation programs run by Life Without Barriers’ Living Arts Program, Neami National and Skylight.
Life Without Barriers' Living Arts Program is featuring collaborative pieces made during Family Fun Days, the MOCKINGBIRD Family™ animation Projects and works from three emerging young artists.

Festival of Now!
The Festival of Now is a celebration of mental health, creativity and inclusiveness that challenges stigma and promotes community connection.
This year the Festival of Now is celebrating its 10th anniversary with live music and performance, free food, arts and crafts, games, Farmer Darcy's Animal Petting Zoo, mental health and wellbeing information stalls and more.

National Carers Week - Carer Expo
Join us and other stall holders from Government agencies, community organisations and service providers at the Carer Expo!
This event is for all unpaid carers* who live in South Australia!

*Who is an unpaid Carer? An unpaid Carer can be a partner, family member, friend or neighbour. They could be temporary or permanent caring for someone because of terminal illness, disability, mental illness, alcohol and drug addiction, or for an older person with care needs.
CARERS SA provides unpaid Carers with a range of support services including the Carer Gateway (carer support planning, emergency respite, peer support and coaching, counselling, tailored financial packages), carer breaks, community connections and more.

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) at the Nightingale Open Day
Located in the inner Melbourne suburb of Brunswick, the dwellings are rated as having high physical support and include features that provide enhanced physical access.
Community housing organisation Housing Choices Australia and disability support provider Life Without Barriers will be onsite to answer questions about the accommodation, which is powered by solar and 100% GreenPower, has a shared rooftop garden and is adjacent to Anstey train station.
