This October, Life Without Barriers is hosting and supporting a number of in-person and online events. You can connect with our teams and learn more about our services at the events below.

New South Wales

Foster Care Information Webinar

Learn everything you need to know about foster care at our free online information session.

During the session, we will cover the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a foster carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session.

School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) - Information Webinar

This free information session is for New South Wales students with disability in years 10 - 12 to learn more about employment support opportunities.

Meet our Employment Pathway Coaches, who will talk you through a whole range of employment pathway options. This is an interactive session giving you lots of time to ask questions and find out what’s best for you.

Foster Care Information Webinar

Are you able to open your home and provide a safe and stable home for children and young people in care? Join our free information session to learn what's involved in becoming a foster carer and whether it's the right fit for you.

During the session, we will cover the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a foster carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session.

Mardi Gras-burg Festival

Come along and celebrate the inaugural Pride Festival for the township of Marburg! This free event has something for everyone, with market stalls, food trucks, information stalls, live music and entertainment.

Life Without Barriers will be one of the stalls at this family-friendly event, celebrating and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, especially our carers. Our friendly staff and foster carers will be happy to share with you all the information and insights into what it's like to be a foster carer and to answer any questions you might have.

Toowoomba Seniors Expo

Learn more about Life Without Barriers aged care services at the Toowoomba Seniors Expo!

This free event is a great chance for seniors, their families and friends to observe, speak with someone, participate in an activity or simply collect information on a diverse range of interests and services. This year's Toowoomba Senior's Expo will bring together a number of vendors with pertinent information on health products, retirement villages, lawyers, social clubs, education, and more!

We will have a stall at the event, sharing information on our aged care services. Our friendly staff will be available to answer your questions and can provide you with important advice specific to your needs and help guide you on your journey.

Have Your Say Adelaide

First Peoples Disability Network are heading to Hindmarsh (Adelaide), SA, for a #HaveYourSay event on the 3rd of October.

This free event (with free merchandise available too) is open to everyone who wants to support First Nations people with disability to have their voices heard on the Voice to Parliament. Even if you’re not sure where you stand, please come along and learn about why this historic vote is so important to First Nations peoples.

Mindshare Group Exhibition Launch

Celebrate the launch of the Mindshare Group Exhibition!

Mindshare is an online space that invites the general public to share personal experiences or thoughts connected to mental health, either in everyday observations or through art and storytelling.

The yearly Mindshare Group Exhibition is held during Mental Health Month, featuring creatives with lived experience of mental health challenges alongside works made by participants in creative outreach and rehabilitation programs run by Life Without Barriers’ Living Arts and Neami National’s Neami Arts programs.

Disability, Ageing and Lifestyle (DAL) Expo

Life Without Barriers is proud to be an exhibitor at the #MyLifeChoices Disability, Ageing, and Lifestyle Expo (DAL Expo) 2023. The two-day event is the biggest of its kind, showcasing over 200 providers of products, services, and information relating to the disability and aged care sector.

We will have a stall at the event, sharing information on our disability, aged care, and foster care services. Our friendly staff will be available to answer your questions and can provide you with important advice specific to your needs and help guide you on your journey.

Referendum Polling Booth at Rocherlea Day Centre

On October 14th, our Rocherlea Day Centre will serve as a polling booth for the Voice to Parliament Referendum. We're here to support your participation and are committed to providing accessible voting for all. Exercise your right to vote in a convenient and welcoming location, and don't forget to grab a delicious sausage from our sizzle fundraiser while you're here!

  • Time: 8am – 2pm

  • Location: 3 Archer Street, Rocherlea, Tasmania.

Our goal is to ensure that all Australians can vote in the upcoming Referendum. With the help of Polaron Language Services, we have translated a short video, social media tiles and information factsheets into over 45 languages so you can get informed and spread the message with everyone.

Kalamunda Night Markets

Looking for an activity the whole family can enjoy? Come along to the Kalamunda Night Markets!

The Kalamunda Night Markets is a great family-friendly night out featuring food vendors, market stalls, local businesses, and live entertainment.
