Reaching Out

Some days, we can all get sad, angry, feel stressed, mad at the world or just out of sorts.

It’s important to have people that you feel safe with and trust, who you can talk to if you need to. This might include your friends, your carer, someone in your family, your Case Manager, or your teacher.

Sometimes it’s easier to talk to someone who doesn’t know you. Here are some organisations that have information for young people, and people you can talk to about anything that’s worrying you.

Reachout provides practical support, tools and tips to help young people get through anything from everyday issues to tough times.

Kids Helpline is a free, private and confidential 24/7 phone and online counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25.

Youth Beyond Blue aims to empower young people aged 12–25, their friends and those who care for them to respond to anxiety and depression.

Lifeline provides access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services: https://www.lifeline.org.au/.
