Join Life Without Barriers at a range of events happening across Australia in May.

During May, Life Without Barriers is hosting and supporting in-person and online events. You can connect with our teams and learn more about our services at the events below.

New South Wales

School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) Webinar

This free information session is for New South Wales students with disability in years 10 - 12 to learn more about employment support opportunities.

Eduardo, Employment Pathways Coach, will talk to you about NDIS School Leaver Employment Supports and how we can support you on your pathway to employment. This is an interactive session giving you lots of time to ask questions and find out what’s best for you.

Queensland

Cuppa in the Communi-tea

This free, accessible, and inclusive event connects residents with different service providers in the local community and council departments and offers technology support, free Wi-Fi, and the chance to borrow some books from the Mobile Library Van.

Drop in, have a cuppa, and chat with the Life Without Barriers team. Our friendly staff and foster carers will be happy to share information and insights into what it's like to be a foster carer in Queensland and answer any questions you might have.

The Ipswich Show

This year's Ipswich Show will be three days of nonstop entertainment for the whole family, with a massive program of events and activities across the Ipswich Showgrounds.

There is something for everyone, with carnival rides, competitions, activities for the kids, entertainment, and a range of food stalls.

Life Without Barriers' staff and Brisbane foster care ambassadors will have a stall at the event, ready to answer any questions you have about foster care.

The Boonah Show

Come down and chat with Life Without Barriers at the Boonah Show!

This is a great event for the whole family, with carnival rides, a sideshow alley, food, and merchandise, the demolition derby, a cavalcade of transport, chainsaw races, a ute muster, a motocross bike challenge, a young farmers challenge, and fireworks!

There is also a celebrity chef competition, a hay stacking competition, a pet parade, and a Lego competition for the kids.

Our friendly staff and foster care ambassadors will have a stall at the event, ready to answer any questions you have about foster care in Boonah.

South Australia

Foster Care Information Webinar

If you're interested in sharing your home, heart, and time with a child or young person in need, please attend our free information session to learn what it's like to become a foster carer in Adelaide and whether it's the right fit for you.

During the session, we will cover the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a foster carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session.

Reconciliation in the West

Reconciliation in the West is a free annual whole-of-community event that promotes Reconciliation. It features free entertainment for all ages, stalls from local service providers and Aboriginal businesses, a free BBQ, and much more!

Tasmania

Agfest

Come down and chat with Life Without Barriers at Agfest!

Agfest is a multi-award-winning agricultural event organised by Rural Youth Tasmania volunteer members, celebrating the best in Tasmanian farming.

You can find us at site no. 76 to learn about our disability, mental health and foster care services, with current Hobart foster carers and specialist staff available to answer your questions. Our stall is one you won’t want to miss, with fun activities for the kids and handmade art creations from our Disability Art Program available for purchase!

We’ve also teamed up with Ashgrove Cheese again this year to raise community awareness that ‘Tassie Kids Need Foster Carers’. Stop by our tent or the Ashgrove Van to find out more!
