This August, Life Without Barriers is hosting and supporting a number of in-person and online events. You can connect with our teams and learn more about our services at the events below.

New South Wales

School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) - Information Webinar

This free information session is for New South Wales students with disability in years 10 - 12 to learn more about employment support opportunities.

Meet our Employment Pathway Coaches, who will talk you through a whole range of employment pathway options. This is an interactive session giving you lots of time to ask questions and find out what’s best for you.

Queensland

Mackay Disability Expo

The Mackay Disability Expo will offer a crucial opportunity, for people with disability, their families and carers, to find out about the latest products, services, technology, aids, and equipment.

We will have a stall at the event, sharing information on our disability services. Our friendly staff will be available to answer your questions and can provide you with important advice specific to your needs and help guide you on your journey.

  • Time: 9am - 12pm

  • Location: The Big Shed, Mackay Showgrounds, Milton Street, Mackay, Queensland.

Forest Lake Community Festival

Come along and celebrate the 3rd Annual Forest Lake Community Festival. This free event has something for everyone, with market stalls, food trucks, music, roving entertainers, rides, community groups, face painting, a laser show, and fireworks.

Life Without Barriers staff and foster care ambassadors will have a stall at the event, ready to answer any questions you have about foster care.

South Australia

Adelaide Roller Derby Grand Final

Come along and celebrate the grand final of the Adelaide Roller Derby 2023 season. Local band Lucky Seven will be playing live music from 4pm and at half time, and there will be stalls with locally made creations.

Life Without Barriers staff and foster care ambassadors will have a stall at the event, cheering on the runners and answering any questions you have about foster care.

Foster Care Information Session – Mount Barker

If you're interested in sharing your home, heart and time with a child or young person in need, please join our free information session to learn what's involved in becoming a foster carer and whether it's the right fit for you.

During the session, we will cover the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a foster carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers. Our experienced team and a local foster carer will talk you through the process and answer any questions you have - no matter how big or small!

Care Expo Melbourne brings together a diverse range of community services, businesses and organisations from the support, health, and care industries.

Foster Care Information Webinar

Learn everything you need to know about foster care at our free online information session.

During the session, we will cover the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a foster carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session.

Perth Disability Connection Expo

Featuring NDIS service providers, allied health, early intervention, resource and equipment suppliers, home and community services and disability/complex case services for adults and children, the Perth Disability Connection expo brings participants and providers together to find solutions and increase real choice and control.

We will have a stall at the event, sharing information on our Young People's Employment Pathways, which offers School Leaver Employment Supports for young people with disability preparing to leave school and find the right job for them. Our friendly Employment Pathways Coaches will be available to answer your questions and help guide you on your employment journey.
