Join Life Without Barriers at a range of events happening across Australia during April.

This April, Life Without Barriers is hosting and supporting a number of in-person and online events. You can connect with our teams and learn more about our services at the events below.

Queensland

Unity Day

Unity Day provides a one-stop shop for members of the community to explore and experience Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures first-hand.

The event offers a range of activities that cater to both adults and children, including cultural activities, market stalls featuring handmade arts and crafts by local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs as well amusement rides, entertainment and access to a variety of informative stall providers.

Join Life Without Barriers at Kari’s Community Unity Event and enjoy this opportunity to come together and celebrate and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

White Ridge Farm Pop-Up

Come down to White Ridge Farm and chat with Amy Donnelly, Carer Recruitment & Engagement Officer, about all things foster care!

Foster Care Information Webinar

Learn everything you need to know about foster care at our free online information session.

During the session, we will cover the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a foster carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session.

Australian Capital Territory

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) at the Enliven Housing Open Day

Located in Canberra, these apartments are generous in size, feature high-quality NDIS inclusions, and are ready for Assistive Technology. All of the apartments are also pet-friendly! 

Make sure you book an appointment to attend one of the open days and view these spacious two-bedroom apartments. Life Without Barriers will be onsite alongside Enliven Housing on the day to answer any questions you have about the accommodation.

  • Date: Every Wednesday from 5 April to 22 April.

  • Time: 1pm-2pm

  • Location: North Braddon, Australian Capital Territory.

South Australia

Foster Care Information Webinar

Across South Australia, we have an urgent need for more foster carers to offer long-term stable homes, short-term emergency care or weekend respite care for children, teenagers or siblings who are unable to live safely with their families.

Join our free online information session to learn everything you need to know about becoming a foster carer.

During the session, we will cover the different types of care, the application and assessment process, the roles and responsibilities of being a foster carer and the support you will receive from Life Without Barriers. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session.
