Life Without Barriers commends Kurt Fearnley AO and Graeme Innes AM following public announcements of their appointments to the Board of the National Disability Insurance Agency.
Kurt Fearnley AO has been confirmed as Chair of the NDIA Board and Graeme Innes AM as a non – Executive Director.
Greg Ridder, Chair of Life Without Barriers, said the organisation recognises the important role Kurt and Graeme have in advocating for people with disability and the NDIS which supports them.
“Since joining our Board in 2014, Graeme has been an active and engaged board member and has always advocated for us to do more, be direct and push boundaries,” Mr Ridder said.
“Graeme is loved and respected by our staff and the Life Without Barriers community. He is known for his incredible intellect, sense of humour and for his pivotal leadership in our organisation’s intentions around disability employment. His achievements are substantial, our organisation will continue to be influenced by Graeme’s legacy for decades to come.
“Kurt joined our Board in 2021 and has been keenly involved in our organisation’s housing strategy and has embraced the organisation and supported our goals to deliver great services and influence the policy environment which impacts people with disability.
“Kurt’s contribution to the Life Without Barriers Board has been invaluable."
His passion and genuine excitement around making a difference in people’s lives, especially for people with disability makes him a perfect fit as the Chair of the NDIA.”
Chief Executive of Life Without Barriers, Claire Robbs, said the contribution Kurt and Graeme will bring to the NDIA Board will have a resoundingly positive impact for people with disability and the sector that supports them.
“Kurt and Graeme believe in the NDIS and what it can bring for people. Whilst our organisation is saddened Kurt and Graeme will depart from our Board, we are genuinely excited by the substantial contribution they will make to the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
