Our Living Arts Team has gone mobile!
Strap yourself in as the Living Arts team are set to take their artistic talents to South Australian children and young people in care via their new mobile Living Arts Outreach Van! Over the coming weeks the new van, courtesy of Volkswagen Australia, is getting decked-out as a mobile sound recording and graphic arts studio.
Inside it will offer access to a computer, desks and musical instruments to fulfil children and young people’s creative hearts’ desires during school holiday programs, community events and one-on-one sessions.
Our South Australia Living Arts program helps children and young people to:
Better understand themselves and their role in the community ;
Build confidence through nurtured experiences of success ;
Explore interpersonal skills that help them establish healthy relationships ;
Have healthy social interaction and connect to the wider community.
Arts based learning is widely understood as an effective way to foster healing and work in trauma-informed ways. It also enhances literacy and numeracy, communication and analytical skills while encouraging clear thinking and community connectedness.
