This June, Life Without Barriers is hosting and supporting a number of in-person and online events. You can connect with our teams and learn more about our services at the events below.

Australia Wide

Understanding the Voice - Community Town Hall

Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to learn and engage in a constructive conversation about the Voice Referendum and its potential impact with Allies for Uluru. Life Without Barriers is a member of Allies for Uluru and will be attending the online event.

Hear renowned Arrernte and Kalkadoon director, writer and producer Rachel Perkins talk about why constitutional recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through a Voice to Parliament is a crucial step toward creating a better future for all Australians.

This will be an amazing opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and learn ways to engage in your local community.

Australian Capital Territory

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) at the Enliven Housing Open Day

Located in Canberra, these apartments are generous in size, feature high-quality NDIS inclusions, and are ready for Assistive Technology. All of the apartments are also pet-friendly! 

Make sure you book an appointment to attend one of the open days and view these spacious two-bedroom apartments. Life Without Barriers will be onsite alongside Enliven Housing on the day to answer any questions you have about the accommodation.

DSC Annual NDIS Conference

The Annual NDIS Conference is back!

With all the NDIS leaders in one place, this is an event you won't want to miss. Connect with others in the NDIS sector and learn from the big names about the issues happening right now and what to expect in the future.

Northern Territory

World Community Development Conference Darwin

The 2023 World Community Development Conference Darwin “From the Edge” provides a unique opportunity for global practitioners, participants, academics, policymakers, funders, and other stakeholders to share perspectives on current contexts and challenges for community development and community work. The conference will embrace global First Nations communities, and encompass cutting-edge inputs, papers, creative installations, and poster presentations on rights-based community development, addressing and engaging locally, nationally, and internationally.

Life Without Barriers Living Arts team is hosting an interactive installation as part of the conference and will also be running a session on using the arts as a community-building tool and a workshop on Ngarrindjeri weaving.

Queensland

The Boonah Show

Come down and chat with Life Without Barriers at the Boonah Show!

A great event for the whole family with carnival rides, a sideshow alley, food and merchandise., the demolition derby, a cavalcade of transport, chainsaw races, Ute muster, motor cross bike challenge, young farmers challenge and fireworks!

There is also a celebrity chef competition, a hay stacking competition, a pet parade, and a Lego competition for the kids.

Our friendly staff and foster care ambassadors will have a stall at the event, ready to answer any questions you have about foster care.

Queerswich

Come along to Queerswich, a free family fun day to celebrate Ipswich's LGBTQIA+ community.

A great event for all, with live entertainment from fabulous drag queens, musicians and DJs, art exhibitions, a showcase of LGBTQIA+ community support and service groups, a puppy pageant, arts and crafts for the kids, a market and food trucks.

Life Without Barriers staff and foster care ambassadors will have a stall at the event, ready to answer any questions you have about foster care.
