Life Without Barriers and Joblife Employment, a Disability Employment Service, have joined forces again to take part in AccessAbility Day, which occurs next week.
AccessAbility Day is a fantastic Australian Government initiative that gives job-seekers with a disability a chance to get a taste of what it is like to work with us, and it gives us a chance to see what they have to offer. It’s a win-win!
People with disability find it more difficult to gain meaningful employment due to discrimination and unconscious bias, which still occurs to this day in Australian workplaces.
This initiative aims to break down the barriers that people with disability face.
Last year, we were excited to welcome seven job-seekers through our doors, and we were so impressed with one person, that we offered them long-term work experience and then a full-time job!
This year, Joblife Employment has hand-picked 12 people, who will be paired up with a team for a day to learn more about their role. We can’t wait to meet them!
