This award clearly demonstrates Life Without Barriers commitment to providing a barrier-free and inclusive recruitment process for people with disability.

  1. As a ‘Disability Confident Recruiter’ we are committed to providing fair and equitable treatment for candidates with disability.

  2. Our key recruitment web page(s) are accessible as per the Web Content Accessibility Standards (WCAG 2.1) and provide people with disability equitable access to our employment information.

  4. We know how to make adjustments to accommodate a candidate’s specific requirements throughout the application, assessment and interview process.

  5. We provide key information in alternate formats on request.

  6. We take role briefs, advertise roles, screen, test and interview candidates with disability based on the essential requirements of the role.

  7. We communicate with candidates with disability using their preferred method of communication.

  8. We provide information and development to our recruitment consultants on disability confidence and awareness.

About the DCR program

The Australian Network on Disability's internationally-renowned Disability Confident Recruiter (DCR) program builds an organisation’s confidence and capability to attract and support skilled candidates with disability.

AND will guide your organisation to identify and remove unintended barriers to inclusive recruitment, understand and implement workplace adjustments, understand and test the accessibility of your website, adhere to the DCR Charter, and give your people confidence to refer skilled and talented candidates with disability to internal or external clients.

Life Without Barriers’ latest Accessibility, Inclusion and Employment Plan (2019 – 2022) ensures we continue to create inclusion and opportunity for people living with disability with ambitious goals and employment targets that will keep us accountable.
