Katina, or Kat as she likes to be called, is enjoying a semi-retired and independent life with support from Life Without Barriers.

Kat is in her 60s and shares a warm and cosy home with her housemate Len, a quiet 70-year-old man. Together, they have filled the space with personal touches over the last 27 years.
Kat expresses her creativity through art and music, and her talents are reflected in her home. She has created beautiful mosaics for the garden and looks after potted plants, including seasonal vegetables. Music is a big part of Kat’s life, and she especially enjoys Greek music, often clapping along to the rhythm as it fills her home.

Living at her own pace is important to Kat. She enjoys relaxing by watching reality TV and her favourite Greek movies. She also loves her music classes, whether online or in person, where she can sing along and have fun.
Kat’s home is regularly visited by friendly dogs, and she always looks forward to giving them treats and a pat.

Outside of her home, Kat is very social. She enjoys window shopping, visiting cafes, and buying items to decorate her home. She also attends art classes, where some of her artwork has been commissioned by a local business.
Kat loves getting her nails done and taking short walks to stay fit. Holidays are a highlight for her, with cruises that feature cabaret shows being her favourite.

A person's story is precious, and we take storytelling seriously. Sometimes, people can tell their own stories, and we love that. Katina is a person who communicates using actions and gestures, which is why there are no direct quotes from her in this story.
We will always honour the trust placed in us to bring a person's story forward.
