The people who choose Life Without Barriers aged care services share with us some moments of joy.

At Life Without Barriers, we support you to live life as you like it. Our Aged Care team focuses on building genuine relationships by listening to what matters most to each person and tailoring support to suit their individual needs and preferences.

We empower people to make their own choices and stay engaged in the hobbies and passions they enjoy, whether that’s tending to a balcony garden, lending a hand during tough times, or connecting with others through community programs.

These everyday moments reflect the many ways our aged care participants are supported to live life on their own terms.

Aged Care in Rockhampton

Nellie loves spending time with her family, creating diamond art, and heading out to country music events. She also enjoys visiting the beach and organising Christmas breakfast for the people where she lives.

At home, Nellie takes great pride in her award-winning garden, which she’s able to care for with the help of her in-home supports.

Nellie shares that Life Without Barriers has provided her with supports catered to her needs, helping her to get back on her feet and regain her independence.

Home Care Packages in Townsville

Amid the floods earlier this year, one of the people our aged care team supports saw a call for food donations from the Northern Townsville Community Hub. Wanting to support those affected, they purchased a Woolworths gift card and asked for some help delivering it. When we arrived, they had also packed three bags of non-perishable groceries to donate.

Grateful to be safe and dry, they wanted to give back to others doing it tough. Their generosity was warmly received by the community centre, showing how acts of kindness can make a big difference in times of crisis.

South Queensland Home Care

Joan has always had a passion for gardening, and over the past few months, she’s transformed her small balcony into a vibrant oasis of flowers and herbs.

With a little support from Life Without Barriers, and a lot of care and creativity, Joan has made the most of her space, proving that a love for gardening can flourish anywhere.

"It keeps me busy, and it’s wonderful to watch things grow," Joan said with a smile.

Australian Capital Territory Home Maintenance

At 71, Ian isn’t ready to slow down just yet, he still works full-time and loves it! But keeping up with household chores has recently become a real challenge, leaving him drained and affecting his ability to enjoy his work. That’s when he reached out for a little extra support.

Now, with domestic assistance and garden maintenance in place, Ian doesn’t have to spend his energy scrubbing floors or trimming hedges. Instead, he can focus on his job, enjoy his downtime, and work towards his well-earned retirement.

With the right support, Ian has shown that that age is just a number, and life is meant to be lived your way!

Social Support in South Australia

Marie once faced feelings of isolation, but that changed after she was encouraged to join community programs through Life Without Barriers.

Since then, she’s formed a close-knit group of friends, and those new social connections have brought genuine joy and companionship into her life, making each day a little brighter.
