On the National Day of Mourning, Life Without Barriers pauses with communities across Australia to honour the victims of the Bondi terrorist attack and reaffirm that everyone has the right to feel safe to celebrate their faith and culture without fear.
Today, guided by the theme ‘Light will win’, Life Without Barriers joins calls for kindness, compassion, and unity as the nation comes together to remember the 15 innocent lives lost at Bondi Beach on December 14.
We acknowledge the profound grief and loss of the Jewish community, who are deeply feeling the impact of this tragedy and the pain of antisemitism.
Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones who are grieving, those who were injured, and those who have been shaken by this act of unacceptable violence.
Life Without Barriers stands for inclusivity, dignity, and respect for all people.
As we stand in solidarity today, we recognise that days of mourning can bring up different feelings for different communities, especially those carrying long histories of loss, harm and resilience across generations.
We hold space today for all communities who may be feeling this moment of mourning deeply and acknowledge their experiences with respect and care.
Life Without Barriers hopes this day of mourning acts as a reminder that when we come together in times of darkness, light will win.
