Why do Life Story work?

Why do Life Story work?

Legislation and policies in each state and territory require records to be kept for all children in care. This prevents the loss of their personal history and preserves the records of their childhood. Children in care have a right to records of their growth and development, birth family, school, health, work and these records must be maintained on their behalf.

Some children will have experienced many placement changes and may not have a consistent person in their lives to remind them of their childhood. Without records their life story could be lost.
