Mental health and wellbeing training

This resource provides a wide selection of free, short self-paced training programs from across Australia and internationally.

A variety of interactive online courses, written articles, recorded videos, and live webinars are available on a range of mental health and wellbeing related topics.

These programs are ideal for Foster and Kinship Carers and are also suitable for Parents, Guardians, Adoptive Caregivers and more. Some of the topics and learning outcomes include:

  • Developmental trauma
  • Establishing emotionally safe environments
  • Practical skills and strategies for emotional regulation
  • Promoting mental health and wellbeing among children and young people
  • Addressing anxiety, depression, and deliberate self-harm

These programs were selected by the Fostering Better Mental Health (FBMH) project following consultations and feedback from Tasmanian Foster and Kinship Carers. FBMH was funded by the Healthy Tasmania fund to provide mental health and wellbeing training to Tasmanian Carers.

Looking for information on a specific topic? Orygen provide factsheets, guides and resources on a range of topics from trauma, anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicide prevention, to alcohol and substance use, technology, trans and gender diverse young people, and more.
