Culture & Life Story work

Cultural identity helps develop a sense of self and belonging. You may have only limited knowledge and understanding of the child’s religion, culture, beliefs and traditions. Acknowledge that you are not the expert (unless you are a member of the cultural group yourself) but don’t be afraid to show interest and willingness to learn about the background of the child.

It will take some extra time and effort but gathering this information will help you assist the child.

The care team will work with you to identify the information required and how to source it.
