We Live Life - Edition 16
Welcome to the Winter Edition of We Live Life! This issue features many inspiring stories of the amazing people we support as well as extraordinary kindness from our partners in the community.
Read about Al Noori Muslim School in NSW that generously donated 10 vanloads worth of food to our National Immigration and Support Service Pantry (School Kids Feed Those in Need – Pg 7); and find out about a new self-defence program running with young women leaving Out of Home Care that is building confidence and breaking the cycle of domestic violence (Blackbelt in Self-Worth – pg 12); also get to know Patrick, our Disability Support Worker from WA who has been awarded an excellence award for the positive impact he’s had on the lives of his clients (Local Hero – pg 6).
This issue also gives an insight into our work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities. We feature our Reconciliation Week celebrations (page 8) and profile the first LWB Strong Spirit Woman Camp which saw a number of young women go back to country and the transformation that occurred after they connected to spirit, culture and each other (Strong Spirit Woman – pg 9). We always have so much to share in every issue of We Live Life, and hope you enjoy it.
