Life Without Barriers Launceston Christmas Pop-Up Shop & Sports Challenge
The Life Without Barriers Team have a busy lead-up to Christmas with the Sports Challenge for people with a disability on Friday 1st December at Rocherlea Recreation Ground and running the Pop-Up Shop for Chrissie gift sales leading up to the festive season.

The Life Without Barriers (LWB) Sports Day Challenge is attended by LWB disability clients and other disability services and their clients. Traditionally, up to 10 teams are involved in the days sporting activities such as tug-o-war, 80 metre sprints, relay events and a novelty event, with as many as 250 people in attendance including support staff and spectators.
This is Life Without Barriers showcase event to celebrate the International Day of People with a Disability with the official day being Sunday December 3.
Sports day challenge

Venue: Rocherlea Recreation Ground - 3 Archer Street, Rocherlea
Time: 10.00am – 2.30pm
The event provides an opportunity for everyone invited to participate in modified sports challenges that all clients can enjoy in.
"Athletes are all awarded participation medals made by the Life Without Barriers Art Program clients and a certificate of participation. The winning team is presented with a shield which they hold for 1 year. To date no team has won twice! You only have to see the determination and enjoyment on the athletes faces to understand how this impacts positively to all attending. Access to and participation in sport provides an opportunity to experience social inclusion and also promotes health, confidence and teamwork,” says Life Without Barriers Disability Program Manager Tony Crothers.
Pop into the LWB pop up shop
This Christmas Life Without Barriers will be celebrating their third year of opening a wonderful Pop-Up Shop in Launceston. With the fantastic support of the Centreway Arcade Management, clients of Life Without Barriers Arts Program are able to showcase and sell their colourful artworks which, of course, all make great Christmas presents. Available for purchase will be an assortment of ceramic mushrooms of various sizes and colours, small garden pots, ceramic bird garden stakes, and fish and seahorse wall hangings.
Not only do we have a wonderful display of items for sale, but Life Without Barriers staff will be on hand to provide information to anyone who has been considering being a foster carer, or is even looking for a potential career change to work within the disability sector.
