Life Without Barriers, in partnership with Compass Housing, presents ‘The Kinghorne’, a group of 6 brand new Improved Liveability Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) townhouses located in the heart of Nowra, NSW.
These modern townhouses are perfectly situated being just minutes from the Nowra CBD, near shops, entertainment, outdoor adventures, and transport.
Nowra offers a wonderful lifestyle at any stage of life. You can explore everything the region has to offer from arts and culture to the beach and bush.
Life Without Barriers will be providing 24/7 on-site support for the townhouses.
Applications are now open with a move-in date of Spring 2021.
Each townhouse features 3 bedrooms with built in robes– there are 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom downstairs. As each townhouse is built for 2 residents, you might use the spare bedroom as a home office, sensory room, or guest room.
Each townhouse includes 2 private/ensuite bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs.
These modern and stylish townhouses offer Improved Liveability making it easy to move around in and includes features such as ramp access, wide doorframes, and wide pathways. The SDA category is Improved Liveability.
Each townhouse features:

Located in the heart of Nowra, the main town centre is within walking distance, where you will find supermarkets such as Woolworths, Coles and Aldi, banks, pharmacies, the Post Office, the local library, cinema as well as the Nowra Mall and Stockland Shopping Centre.
Within the same vicinity are specialist medical suites and the Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital. The property itself is located on a bus route, providing easy access to Bomaderry Railway Station.
The lower level of each townhouse is wheelchair accessible. There are 2 sliding doors at either end of the house and a flat or slight ramp on each entry point. Downstairs room has its own bathroom.

Safety checks on all vehicles are also regularly undertaken. We have an emphasis on a healthy lifestyle, with a focus on fresh, unprocessed foods.
The staff enjoy preparing and cooking delicious meals with the help of the housemates.
Factors to consider when applying
Life Without Barriers will conduct a screening and suitability assessment to ensure housemates are compatible.
• You are aged 18 years or over.
• You are eligible for, and able to secure, an appropriate level of NDIS funding to support and fund your living arrangement. This might include Supported Independent Living (SIL) funding, Specialist Disability Accommodation funding, Individualised Living Options (ILO) funding, and/or in home support funding. We can help explore options.
• You have the financial means to pay rent and utilities and are prepared to sign (or for a representative to sign) a service and accommodation agreement.
