This lovely farmhouse located only 6.5 kilometres from the township of Lilydale, TAS is the perfect place for people with a disability to have a supported holiday. The farm is 52 acres in size and home to friendly farm animals and pets, including sheep, chickens, birds, rabbits, ducks, cats, guinea pigs and much more.  

The home is available for children and young people (7 to 18 years of age) and adults (18 to 65 years of age) for overnight and day stays.  

3 Chook Farm also offers a day program from Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm, with a focus on: 

• Meeting new friends, socialising and having fun  

• Learning new skills and growing your confidence 

• Exploring your interests  

• Enjoying fun recreational activities 

• Trying something new

Property features

  • A bright and spacious farmhouse located on 52 acres with living areas and a large central kitchen.  

  • Three bedrooms available, with ample storage and comfortable seating.  

  • One bedroom has a high/low bed, and one has two single beds, ideal for friends or siblings to share.  

  • One bathroom with a free-standing shower and a bathtub (not wheelchair accessible). Both the bathroom and toilet have handrails. There is also access to an outside toilet.  

  • A fully enclosed yard with large, grassed areas, an abundance of different fruit trees and raised garden beds, outdoor seating and undercover areas ideal for BBQs.  

  • A large workshop with work benches and seating, perfect for an afternoon of woodworking.  

  • In-house activities include cooking, sewing, developing independent life skills, movies, games, art, craft and more. 

  • Outdoor activities include bushwalking, gardening, taking care of our resident animal family, woodworking, games and more. 

Our support model

  • This property offers 24/7 staffing services.

  • We cater to a maximum of four guests for overnight stays.  

  • We support people with limited physical, intellectual and/or psychosocial disability to live their best life. 

  • We can provide transport to and from Respite. 

  • We offer participants the opportunity to design their own Respite stay including preference of staff, dietary requirements and desired activities.

Things to consider when staying with us

You will have a dedicated team member to help complete all profiles, so we get to know each guest to organise a stay away from home that best meets your needs and goals.  

  • You are eligible for NDIS Funding for Short Term Accommodation (STA) and Assistance (Respite) or Social and Community Participation. Rates will be charged as per the NDIS price guide. We are available to help you understand the STAA funding available to you in your NDIS plan.  

  • If you are not eligible under NDIS Funding for STA and Assistance (Respite), we can arrange funding for emergency respite at no charge to guests for up to 14 days. Each enquiry requires individual assessment for eligibility.  

  • We recommend an initial short visit for each person to become familiar with their new surroundings before an overnight stay. We are happy to give you a guided tour of the property when it is convenient for you.
