Family Support and Out-of-Home Care encompasses a continuum of services from Family Support and Intervention aimed at assisting vulnerable families to retain their parenting role through to services such as Foster Care and Residential Care that provide for children and young people who have been removed from their families on either a short or long term basis.
Family Support and Out-of-Home Care also encompasses a range of specialised services aimed at supporting the child or young person's placement by addressing their needs in critical areas of development or supporting them through major transitions. Examples of such programs include Education Planning, Cultural Connection and Family Contact.
We also run programs that help prevent children and young people in vulnerable families from entering the care system.
