Our Executive

Our Executive works together with our Board of Directors to set the strategic direction of the organisation and establish business plans to meet those strategic goals. The team comprises:
 

Claire Robbs

Position: Chief Executive
Qualifications: Executive Master of Business Administration (current), Bachelor of Social Policy, Graduate Diploma Psychology
Experience: Claire joined Life Without Barriers in 2004, and has over 15 years experience in the welfare and community services sector.
She has held a number of senior positions within the organisation and has been key to Life Without Barriers’ successful diversification of its operations.
Claire has overseen the commencement of services to refugees and asylum seekers and the delivery of new services across youth justice, mental health and homelessness.
She has led the operations division since 2005, and in 2010 was appointed Deputy CEO, Operations.
Prior to commencing with Life Without Barriers, Claire had worked in the disability and the child protection sectors in residential support, case management and behaviour intervention roles.
Claire has been appointed to the CEO position for a five year term commencing September 2011.

 Kylie Gwynne

Position: Director, Strategy and Change
Qualifications: Master of Human Services; Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies; NSW Public Sector Executive Development Program.
Experience: Kylie has more than twenty years experience in social policy and service delivery in the government, not-for-profit and corporate sectors.  She has led major change projects and developed innovative solutions to policy, funding and practice challenges.  Kylie has held senior executive as well as policy, operational and advisory roles and worked across NSW, Queensland, ACT and the NT.  Kylie has joined Life Without Barriers to develop strategic partnerships with universities, businesses and community organisations, and contribute to social policy debates which impact on the people we work with.  Kylie is passionate about excellence and innovation in human services.
 

Bruce Mulligan

Position: National Director, Human Resources
Qualifications: Bachelor of Economics
Experience: Bruce began with LWB in January 2010.  Bruce brings over 35 years experience in Human Resource Management and has held many senior HR positions in both national and international organisations.  He has managed all functions within the HR portfolio, in a diverse range of organisations including manufacturing, community services and hospitality.  Bruce has been involved in a range of community based organisations over the years and brings a wealth of expertise in this field to LWB.  

Mark Blanks 

Position: National Director, Operations
Qualifications: Diploma in Applied Science; Graduate Diploma in Management; Registered Nurse.
Experience: Mark has 32 years of experience working in Human Services for both private and government organisations.  His experience ranges from operational to management roles in disability, heath and out of home care services in Australia and overseas.  Prior to joining LWB, Mark held the position of Regional Manager of Service Development, NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care for four years.  Mark commenced with LWB in 2006 in the position of Northern NSW State Manager.  In October 2008, Mark moved into the role of National Director, Service, Business Development and Marketing.
